Kindess

St. David Catholic Elementary School celebrated a heartwarming start to Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week with an incredible kickoff event themed Kindness Week. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, who reminds us to “treat others as you want to be treated,” the week’s activities emphasized compassion, empathy, and love in action.

The event began with two inspiring Kindness Assemblies, where students learned that kindness is the key to creating a positive and inclusive school environment. The assemblies, led by the dedicated Health Action Team (HAT) under the guidance of the beloved Nurse Carol and nursing student Emma, set the stage for a week buzzing with love and positivity. Emma beautifully shared the message: “Kindness makes the world sweeter,” likening the school community to bees working together to build something meaningful.

Throughout the week, students are participating in activities that brings kindness to life:

Monday: Assemblies and a collaborative kindness activity.
Tuesday: Students make Kindness Bracelets, symbolizing unity and care for one another.
Wednesday: The youngest students create Kindness Crowns, proudly celebrating their roles as Kindness Ambassadors. Teachers hand out kindness stickers to students demonstrating acts of kindness.

The lessons tied seamlessly to Jesus’ teachings, encouraging students to be patient, compassionate, forgiving, and loyal. "There’s a saying: You catch more bees with honey," Emma reminded the students, “and that means you’ll make more friends by being kind.”

As confetti and kindness filled the air, St. David Catholic Elementary School proved that they are not just a school but a community united in faith, love, and the mission to make the world a kinder place.
