Recently students, staff, and community members came together at St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School for “Light It Up Pink” Day, a lively event in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The day featured a charity basketball game, performances by the school dance and cheer teams, and a range of pink-themed activities, all set to the sounds of the St. Thomas More band, which provided a musical backdrop for the event.

The day began with a charity basketball game, with all proceeds donated to the local Cancer Assistance Program. Representatives from the organization attended, expressing their appreciation for the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting local cancer care.

The school cafeteria became the center of activity, with students participating in bracelet making, Polaroid photo sessions, and pink-themed community-building exercises. A warm welcome was extended to students from Catholic elementary feeder schools, who joined in the day’s activities and caught an inspiring glimpse of what their future high school experience might look like.

Now an annual tradition, “Light It Up Pink” has quickly become a highlight of the school year, emphasizing St. Thomas More community’s dedication to making a difference. Rooted in the Catholic mission to serve, the event reflects the school’s commitment to fostering compassion and solidarity, inspiring students to live out the values of faith, hope, and love in support of a meaningful cause.
