On Thursday, May 23rd, students from across the HWCDSB participated in the annual Dramarama event, hosted by St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School. The event brought together over 100 drama students from various high schools within the board.
The day was a celebration of creativity and performance, starting with students creating 10-minute scenes based on randomly selected themes. They had to incorporate creative movement, dialogue, and choral speaking/song, all within one hour. During a pizza lunch, students mingled with peers from other schools, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow artists. In the afternoon, each school showcased their performances on the STM stage, with students cheering and celebrating each other’s work.
Dramarama offers drama students a fantastic opportunity to explore their potential in a supportive and fun environment. It highlights the importance of arts in education, allowing students to create and be vulnerable among like-minded individuals. Each year, Dramarama serves as a reminder of the value of the arts and a celebration of the talents of drama students across the board.
