St. Mary Catholic Secondary School recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the DREAMS program at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Waterdown. The evening was filled with joy and camaraderie, featuring a catered meal, live music and a silent auction. Guests included relatives of Fr. Lou Quinn, HWCDSB administrators, staff, students, alumni, chaperones, relatives, friends, and special visitors from San Jose de Ocoa.
This milestone event not only marked a 25-year journey but also highlighted the community’s unwavering commitment to supporting students and making transformative trips possible. The DREAMS program has raised over $150,000, built 60 homes, and supported educational projects in the remote, mountainous Ocoa region of the Dominican Republic. The program continues to offer students a unique, life-changing experience, fostering empathy, a sense of purpose, and a deeper connection to their faith.
Thank you to everyone who joined in commemorating 25 years of realized dreams and helping to shape the future of students. Enjoy the pictures from this memorable celebration!
