Food Allergy Awareness Month

Food allergies are a leading cause of potentially life-threatening reactions and affect more than 3 million Canadians—about 7.5% of the population. With an estimated 50% of households impacted either directly or indirectly, food allergy is a significant public health concern, especially for children.

There is currently no cure for food allergy, and reactions can be unpredictable. Strict avoidance of allergenic foods is required to prevent serious reactions.

This month, we recognize the importance of education, understanding, and creating safe, inclusive environments for all students, staff, and families living with food allergies.
