Last week, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School delighted the community with a heartwarming production of A Charlie Brown Christmas. From the moment you stepped into the gym, you were embraced by the Christmas spirit and a sense of nostalgia. The life-sized Snoopy doghouse and enchanting winter scenery set the stage for a whimsical evening, even before the performance began.

With piano music capturing the charm of the original soundtrack, the talented actors and choir brought the Peanuts characters to life, dancing and performing in classic form. The production, directed by Josie Lutz, was a collaborative effort involving an art crew led by Susi Lopes and Lisa Fioraso, a choir directed by Melissa Bozzo-Taibi and Raymond Fortino, and a tech crew under the guidance of Richelle Hervas.

The dedicated staff and students had been preparing for the production since September, devoting their lunch hours and after-school time to ensure everything was perfect for the three performances.

“It has always been my dream to direct this classic childhood Christmas story,” shared director Josie Lutz. “During this hectic and festive season, it reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.”

A beautiful reenactment of the Nativity further emphasized the central message of the Christmas season, accompanied by the choir singing beloved hymns like Away in a Manger and Hark the Herald Angels Sing. The play concluded with the iconic transformation of Charlie Brown’s tiny Christmas tree, a touching moment symbolizing love and community.

The production was a resounding success, lifting the spirits of all who attended and filling hearts with the joy and peace of the true meaning of Christmas.
