The spirited group from Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, comprising 87 students and 7 chaperones, recently returned from an exhilarating 6-day musical adventure in Nashville, TN. Their journey to the World Strides Heritage Music Festival was packed with iconic visits including the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B, and a lively southern cruise on General Jackson's Showboat.
In Nashville, known as Music City, the students' performances resonated with the vibrant cultural backdrop. The BR Xpression choir triumphed with a Gold award, while the Celtic Fusion Concert Band earned a well-deserved Bronze. A standout moment was when Grade 12 student Rachel Kelly won the prestigious "Maestro" award for her outstanding solo performance.
Music Directors Chad Pilon and Nancy Boss were immensely proud of their students who not only showcased their musical prowess but also embraced the rich musical heritage of Nashville. The trip was more than a competition; it was a celebration of music, learning, and community pride.
