The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is a proud supporter of Bell Let’s Talk, a national awareness campaign dedicated to the promotion and support of mental health across Canada. Bell Let’s Talk promotes awareness, acceptance and action with a strategy built on anti-stigma, care and access, research, and workplace leadership.
Bell Let's Talk Day takes place on Wednesday January 24, 2024. While the goal is to keep the conversation about mental health going all year long, January 24th marks the start of the campaign.
As a Catholic school community and in support of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, we are committed to fostering safe and inclusive learning environments, which includes addressing mental health and wellness.
Bell Let’s Talk Day is a time to acknowledge that many students are struggling with challenging emotions in response to personal and societal events. It also provides another opportunity for our youth to hear messages that validate their varied and unique experiences and to be shown caring support. The HWCDSB focuses on creating awareness of supportive measures, building resiliency, and encouraging access to appropriate, culturally responsive supports.
Staff, students, and parents are encouraged to join the conversation through starting a conversation about mental health.
